Ryan McCorvie loves to cook. Though he’s a big fan of all sorts of global cuisines, Japanese cooking is his strong suit and his true passion.

Ryan’s interest in Japanese cooking began in earnest after repeated trips to Japan. His third stint in the country was his longest, spanning the better part of a year and involving immersive Japanese language and Zen Buddhism education. He did well enough in language school to pass the JLPT level 5 exam, no easy feat for a non-native speaker.
